How can I book a room or find out prices?

Please support our hostel to book your room dierctly on our website. In order to book a room or find out prices for a certain date please visit the booking page of our website: Book Now and select the date of arrival and the number of nights. Prices vary according to the type of room, the season and ongoing events. In case of last minute booking you can always call us, or send an email to speed up the process.
Please do not ask prices on email unless you would like to book for groups (12+ people) or long stay (7+nights).
Each booking at Corvin Point Hostel must be secured with Deposit Payment or Credit Card Insurance

Do you accept booking via phone call?

Only in case of last minute bookings. Any other cases you need to fill out our booking form to make a reservation.

Do I need to book in advance or can I just show up?

We recommend you to book your room whenever it is possible. Availability in high season changes constantly in our hostel. If you turn up and we’re fully booked, we will try to help to find you other hostels to sleep in.

Are there any extra costs I should know about?

No. There are no hidden costs and extra fees. Sheets, towels, hairdryer, internet access, tea and coffee, maps of the city and so on are all included in the price of the night. However you can always use other services such as parking, aircondition, laundry, rent a bike, different tours…etc. that costs extra, but only if you want to use these services.

Do I need a credit card to make a booking?

Normally yes. This is the only way we can secure your booking wich is good for both of us. In case you make your booking with us you do not have to provide your credit card details. During the booking process you will need to pay 10% of the total amount of your reservation. To make the payment you can use any kind of credit card or debit card (Master Card, VISA, VISA Electron, American Express, Card Bancaire, etc…) or even your PAYPAL account. Once you paid your deposit your reservation will be valid and secured right away. The 90% rest of your reservation will be due upon arrival. I haven't received any confirmation email for my booking request. What should I do?

First please check the SPAM folders of your email account to make sure that our email didn’t go to wrong place. Usually we answer every booking request within 24 hours. In case of last minute booking or need of urgent confirmation, or if you haven’t received any emails from us please write us an email or call us.

Can you send me an official confirmation for my VISA application?

In order to issue any kind of official confirmation by the Hotel, the full amount of the booking must be paid in advance by wire transfer or PAYPAL Invoice. As soon as Corvin Point Hostel receives the full amount of the booking, we can send the scanned official invoice with our stamp and signature. Costumer is solely responsible to provide all necessary information and personal details that is required for the visa and must be indicated in the official invoice. This information must be provided by the guests until the full advanced payment of the booking.
Service fees for VISA confirmation
– Official Invoice with our stamp and signature that indicates that the full amount is paid is free of charge.
– Any kind of other official invitation, written letter, or form costs 30 EUR.
Any kind of modification in the invoice details (e.g.: missing information in guest data which is necessary for VISA application) costs 15 EUR and must be paid in advance via wire transfer or PAYPAL.
Bookings for VISA applications cannot be cancelled in any kind of circumstances.

Can I make payment in euro?

Yes, you can. We accept EUR and HUF in case of cash payment. The current exchange rate will be taken into consideration when you check in.

How should I make a group booking?

If you intend to book for more than 12 people for min. 2 nights please contact us on email to get your custom offer directly from us.
Otherwise please fill out our reservation form.

We can accommodate groups up to 32 people. Keep in mind though that however our clean and spacious rooms can meet even hotel standards, currently we do not have common area for large groups, so it is impossible to organize any kind of group activities in the building of the hostel. We are in the center, so it is easy to go out and have a drink or dinner nearby. We also have to make sure about the comfort of our guests and the residents therefore there is also a very strict noise policy in the building after 22:00.

Stag Party / HEN Party
Groups for Stag Party or Hen Party are welcome up to 25 people! We can help to organize different events but keep in mind that our hostel is much more about a safe and clean place where you can LEAVE for a good party and you can COME BACK from a good party.

FAQ2

Does the private rooms have own bathroom inside the room?

Yes. All our private rooms are equipped with own shower and toilet, LCD TV, minifridge, optional air-condition, and electronic keyless lock system.

Are dorm rooms mixed sex or single sex?

Normally all our dorms are mixed sex. Certainly for groups we can arrange single sex rooms if it is required. Also in off season we might be able to arrange single sex dorms if it is needed.

Can I smoke in the hostel?

Only at some part of the building, but not in the rooms. All our rooms are non smoking however there are designated areas in the hostel where you can have a cigarette. If we spot a person smoking inside the rooms, we may take certain steps and even decline accommodation.

Do you have a parking lot for my car, motorcycle, bicycle, minibus?

Budapest is a big city so traffic can be huge and parking can be really difficult and expenseive. Normally if you park on the street between 8:00 – 18:00 you have to pay about 1EUR per hour everywhere in the city between Mon-Fri (weekdays). Parking is free of charge on weekends (Fri 18:00 – Mon 8:00) and on weekdays night (after 18:00 until 8:00 in the morning). If you make a mistake, you will get a wheelblock immediately. We recommend you to use our parking lot for 3 reasons:
– Its safer than parking on the street. No hassle, no worries.
– It costs about the same as you would park on the street: Costs only 10EUR/night
– There’s no time limit. So basically you can leave the car in the parking lot on the next day.
If you arrive by motorbike or bicycle, you can use our small courtyard just in front of the reception FREE OF CHARGE. The parking in the courtyard is the safest place for your bike BUT the space is limited, so write us an email if you are coming on two wheels. For bicycles we can always find additional safe place in the hostel. In case there is no more room for your motorbike, you can use the parking lot for 5 EUR/night.

Can I arrive late at night or early in the morning?

Yes you can but please make sure to inform us about that. In low season we cannot maintain the 24/7 reception so please always write an email or call us in case of late/early arrival. If you arrive before 12:00 in the morning, we cannot guarantee that your room/bed will be ready, but you can use our free luggage room to leave your bags at the reception, get a free map, and start the sightseeing right away. By the time you are back to the hostel your room will be ready.

Is there a lockout or curfew?

No. If you have a place in Corvin Point Hostel we provide all the necessary keys to come in and go out any time you want. Normally we also have a reception that can help you in the hostel during all day long and also all night in high season (summer).

What other services I can get at the reception?

Our English speaking reception can help you a lot more than you would ever think of. Laundry, hairdryer, luggage store, money exchange are just a few things to mention. There are a bunch of tours and activities you can book a ticket for, but we can help you in case you lose your passport, need translation, to get your car fixed, and sometimes our company represents international clients in Hungary too.

How can I cancel or modify my booking?

You can cancel or modify your reservation 3 days prior your date of arrival. To cancel your booking please send us an email to reservation(at)corvinpoint.com with your name, date of arrival and reference number. Cancellation made through telephone is not valid. If cancellation made after cancellation period Corvin Point Hostel will have the right to charge the full amount of your booking unless hostel and guests are agreed otherwise.

Cancellation Policy for groups.

Any cancellations are permitted free of charge up to 30 days before the expected day of arrival for groups on the basis of multi bed rooms, private rooms or apartments. For cancellations made after this deadline, the following cancellation fees apply; these fees also apply for bookings made within this term:
For cancellations made 29 to 14 days before expected arrival, 50 per cent of the agreed-upon total price will be due.
For cancellations made 13 to 3 day(s) before expected arrival, 75 per cent of the agreed-upon total price will be due.
Customers who either cancel on the day of their expected arrival or simply do not show up will be charged 100 per cent of the agreed-upon total price in full. Above cancellation conditions also apply if the number of persons is reduced at least 10 per cent within this period of time. A reduction of less than 10 per cent is free of charge until 3 days prior to arrival.

Responsibilities in case of damage, heavy drinking and misbehavior

All the unnecessary damage (such as results of heavy drinkingJ) is being covered by the ones that caused it. Corvin Point Hostel reserves the right to refuse accommodation to anyone or end their stay before the reservation finishes if standards of behaviour are not met, in cases such as this no money will be refunded to the guests.
